Preoperative Profile Advanced

Preoperative Profile Advanced

The Preoperative Profile Advanced is a comprehensive set of diagnostic tests conducted before surgery to thoroughly evaluate a patient’s overall health and readiness for anesthesia and the surgical procedure. It goes beyond the Basic Preoperative Profile by including additional tests that assess organ function, clotting ability, infection status, and chronic conditions.

This advanced panel typically includes a Complete Blood Count (CBC), Blood Group and Rh Typing, Blood Sugar (Fasting and Postprandial), Renal Function Tests (Urea, Creatinine, Electrolytes), and Liver Function Tests (LFTs). These tests assess critical systems such as kidneys, liver, and metabolic balance. Additionally, PT/INR (Prothrombin Time and International Normalized Ratio), Bleeding Time (BT), and Clotting Time (CT) are included to evaluate the body’s ability to stop bleeding, especially important for surgeries with higher bleeding risks.

List Of Options

The Preoperative Profile Advanced may also involve HIV, HBsAg, and HCV screening to check for transmissible infections, as well as Chest X-ray and ECG for patients with cardiac or respiratory history. These tests provide the surgical team with a full risk assessment to customize anesthesia and perioperative care.

1
CBC (Complete Blood Count) measures red and white blood cells, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and platelets to assess overall health and detect disorders.
2
KFT (Kidney Function Test) is a group of blood tests that assess how well your kidneys are working by measuring urea, creatinine, and other waste levels.
3
LFT (Liver Function Test) is a set of blood tests that evaluate liver health by measuring enzymes, proteins, and bilirubin levels in the blood.

6
HBSAG (Hepatitis B Surface Antigen) test detects the presence of hepatitis B virus in the blood. A positive result indicates an active infection or carrier state.
7
Coagulation Profile is a group of blood tests that assess the blood’s ability to clot properly, helping diagnose bleeding or clotting disorders.
8
S. Thyroid Profile measures thyroid hormones like TSH, Free T3, and Free T4 to evaluate thyroid gland function and detect disorders.
9
Blood Group test determines your blood type (A, B, AB, or O) and Rh factor (positive or negative), essential for safe transfusions and pregnancy care.
10
RBS (Random Blood Sugar) test measures blood glucose levels at any time, helping detect and monitor diabetes.
11
HBA1C test measures average blood sugar levels over the past 2-3 months, helping diagnose and monitor diabetes control.
